The Tempo
  Players

What began in 1965 as "Let's put on a show" has blossomed into one of the most successful community theater groups in suburban Chicago.  The Tempo Players is a not-for-profit theatre organization, and for over thirty years has delighted audiences with its quality productions.

Tempo is an organization made up entirely of volunteers.  No one receives a salary for his or her services to the group. All revenues come from ticket sales and donations and are used exclusively for show expenses, rental of our theater space and for theater improvements.

Tempo members come from very diverse backgrounds and experiences, and range in age from 8 years to 70+ years.  There is a common goal shared by all members and everyone involved in a production -- to work together to put on the best show possible for the audience, cast, and crew.  This takes a tremendous amount of talent, dedication, persistence and patience.  Fortunately for Tempo, its members have all of these qualities.  Tempo always welcomes new members for both on-stage and off-stage work. Each production has open auditions in which everyone is invited to participate.  If you're not cast in a show, there is always plenty of off-stage work to be done.

In addition, Tempo shares its talents to raise money for Season of Concern, a Chicagoland organization which raises funds for direct care of people living with HIV and AIDS.  Over the past several years, Tempo has produced benefits which have raised thousands of dollars and helped hundreds of people to improve their lives.  Tempo has raised money for the DuPage County Health Department and The Names Project. The organization plans to share its talents to help those in need as often as it can.

With a lifetime of memories, almost 100 productions and thousands of satisfied theater patrons, the Tempo tradition continues.  Quality entertainment is Tempo's business, and passion.

Enjoy!
